Our client: powering up decision-making with financial data you can use

Our client is an international company focused on securing the safe and sustainable development of the space environment. Having initially managed their financials in one financial application, they came to PTR to advise on how to seamlessly transition their reporting capability in light of their move to a new cloud ERP platform.

PTR worked alongside the client to suggest ways they could continue to get the financial reports they needed as they made the move.

With historic data in the old finance system and new data coming in via the new ERP system, PTR suggested using a data warehouse to house the migrated legacy data alongside the new data pipeline coming in from the new ERP system. Within this environment they were able to model the data into the format best suited to them, in a bespoke fashion, according to their precise needs. PTR are a certified Microsoft Partner and so we chose Microsoft Azure for the warehouse task which integrates well with any other company software you might be using.

Working together the teams brought across their favoured financial reports using Microsoft Power BI (P&L, balance sheets etc) and made sure that everything fitted together and worked smoothly. In addition they added some projects based reporting for project spend and budgets.

From project evaluation and solution advice, to implementation, testing and handover the teams worked together to move the project forward. The client now has much improved visibility into their company financials. The financial team no longer have to carry out laborious manual data processing, which has freed up resources for other tasks. They can share more information faster and in greater detail than ever before, handing the c-suite the information they need to power up their decision making.
